Cycling the classic Tour de France mountains with a mix of the Italian Alps

Tuesday 6th June – Day 1 Arrival Annecy. We welcome Christian, Rodrigo & Jose Carlos at Milano airport and we do the 4h30 transfer to Annecy in France. Our mechanic unpack and prepare your bikes for tomorrow’s ride. Hotel Hébé welcomes us in Annecy. Paulo & Tales will arrange their own transfer from Geneva airport.
Wednesday 7st June – Day 2 Lake Annecy First ride to stretch the legs after all travel and prepare for the more hillier future rides, we start with a 40 km flatter ride around Lake Annecy. The ride is 40 km in total and 230 m elevation gain, see Strava profile here
This is also the time trail Tour de France stage 2009, when Gustav finished 4th, after winning Alberto Contador.
Today will also Bruno join us.
Thursday 8th June – Day 3 Annecy – Albertville We leave Annecy, riding along the lake before reaching the first climb, the Col de Bluffy. Enjoy the beautiful view of the château de Menton with the lake as a backdrop before heading across the Aravis mountain range. Friday 9th June – Day 4 Albertville-Valloire We start the day with a classic Tour de France climb – the Col de la Madeleine (1993m) and its 25km ascent. Enjoy the sublime descent before hitting the 11km Col du Telegraph (1566m), gateway to the legendary Galibier.

Saturday 10th June – Day 5 Col du Galibier & Alpe d’Huez In the morning Paulo will take a transfer to Paris. Today we tackle two of the most iconic climbs of the Tour de France: the mighty Col du Galibier and the 21 hairpin bends of the Alpe d’Huez !
Alpe d’Huez is 13.9 km long and 1118 m elevation gain with an average gradient of 8%. Each of the 21 switchbacks is named after a winner of this climb in the Tour de France. On the summit of Alpe d’Huez we just turn the bike and go down Alpe d’Huez. The ride is 91 km in total and 2621 m elevation gain, see Strava profile here
After today’s ride we will take the cars to Lake Como in Italy, 4h30 drive 340 km.

Sunday 11th June – Day 6 Rest Day in Como Today we enjoy the beauty of Como and leave the bikes in the Hotel.

Beautiful Mountains
Monday 12th June – Day 7 Como – St Moritz Today we will ride to St Moritz from Lake Como. We hug the lake Como to Sorico and from there we turn inland towards the mountains. In Chiavenna we start the 37 km long climb Passo Maloja that also bring us to St Moritz.

Tuesday 13th June – Day 8 St Moritz – Bormio
In the morning Bruno take a transfer to Bolzano.
After 45 km on today’s ride we arrive in Livigno. There we stop for lunch, before we continue to final destination on this ride Bormio.

Wednesday 14th June – Day 9 Bormio Today we enjoy Passo dello Stelvio and Umbrail. The ride is 96 km in total and 3300 m elevation gain, see Strava profile here
Thursday 15th June – Day 10 Bormio Today we do a bit shorter day. Passo Gavia (2621m) from Bormio and back to Bormio. After the ride we jump in the cars 4h00 driving to San Cassiano in the Dolomites.

Friday 16th June – Day 11 Dolomites Today we focus on the mountains. We start with climbing 10 km to Passo Falzarego directly from the Hotel and after we enjoy a beautiful and scenic downhill in 21 km. In Caprile we start climbing Passo Fedaia. Fedaia is at the foot of the Marmolada, the Queen of the Dolomites. Fedaia is also a climb which very often is included in the Giro d’Italia. Last time, was in 2022.
After Fedaia we enjoy a welcoming 10 km downhill before we enoy the scenic climbs of Sella Ronda on our way to the Hotel

Saturday 17th June – Day 12 Travel day Today it is very early departure from the Hotel. Your flight is leaving 13:15 from Milano airport. It is a 5h00 drive. Our mechanic will help and pack the bikes before we leave the Dolomites.
