Explore Bormio & Passo dello Stelvio by Bike
There is just one Passo dello Stelvio. One of the most epic climbs in Europe with a summit up at 2757 m. A normal day, you will ride through rain, sun and snow. That just make it even more epic and memorable. The cycling in the region is as challenging as it is beautiful. there are many mythical climbs in the region, Gavia and Mortirolo to name a few.
It is the second highest paved pass in Europe and only 13m lower than the highest, with a elevation of 2757m
It has featured in the Giro d’Italia eleven times from 1953 when Fausto Coppi won the first ascent to the top. Coppi’s epic win gave name to the top “Cima Coppi”.
Amazing Scenery
Stand at the top of the Pass and you are rewarded with the most amazing and heart-stopping view. See how the road below you winds its way around the mountains, no wonder it was voted as the greatest driving road in the world by the automobile show Top Gear.
The best time of the year for cycling Passo dello Stelvio and the surrounding area is June to September. At that time there is less traffic in the area and the roads are given over to cyclists exploring the mountains.

Hopefully we have given you a flavour of cycling the Stelvio pass but please contact us to help us put the right package together for you and your friends.
Below is a suggested itinerary of a trip that we could put together for you, however we will tailor everything according to your budget and time available. We often combine this tour with St Moritz and Lake Como so call us to discuss the options.
Our Hotel is just 5 km from the start of the climb and after a hearty breakfast we would climb onto the bikes and make the ascent to the top of the pass which is 2,758 metres above sea level. At the top we will stop for a very well deserved lunch which will give us time to appreciate the stunning views. Whatever the weather, we have the appropriate clothing in the support vehicle that will follow us. After lunch the ride down the pass will take just 30 minutes and take in some lovely hairpins.
Whenever you feel done with the cycling, we can stop, put something dry on and jump in the cars and drive the last part of our journey to our hotel, where you will be able to unwind and take in the feat that you have just achieved.
This is just a sample of the things that we could put together for you, but please talk to us about your preferences and we can put an experience together for you and your friends that you will never forget.
